One of the most common problems with casement sashes is the hinges. Salt and other deposits settle in the hinges. Water and salt cause the hinge to rust or fuse shut. When this happens, the hinge may need to be replaced. When we replace the casement hinges, sometimes the old hinge can be replaced with the new stainless steel version.
Casement operators sometimes go bad as well. If you try to crank open your window and nothing happens, the operator is broken and needs to be replaced in order to work properly.
