Hoppe Lock Gear Box  – Repair your broken Hoppe Lock

 

Gear Box  for replacement of your broken Hoppe door lock. This model of multi-point lock is manual activation, for 16 mm stainless steel faceplate. This is for the active door on a single or double door. For double door installations, this lock relies on the inactive door lock. Inactive doors typically have top and bottom shoot bolts. When the active door is closed and locked, the active panel locks into the inactive panel.

Hoppe HLS-9000 Multipoint Lock gearbox replacement for Hoppe Lock repairs

This part will replace all drive gears on all HLS-900 locks that have the following:

  1. Handle must be over the thumb turn and profile cylinder. (This is typical of all Hoppe Hls-9000 series multipoint door locks)
  2. Center of handle to center of thumb turn must be 92mm / 3 5/8″ (This is typical of all Hoppe Hls-9000 series multipoint door locks)
  3. Backset must be 35mm / 1 3/8″  (Very Important, Measure from Edge of Door Panel to Center of Handle)
  4. Must have a European profile cylinder that is removable when attachment screw on the edge of door panel has been removed.
  5. This part works only on HLS-9000 multipoint door locks only. It will not work on single point lock applications

Specifications for all Hoppe lock Gearboxes

  • Repairs all Hoppe HLS-9000 multi-point door locks, Equipped with a mis-handling device. This is the spring loaded wedge just above the deadbolt on the side of the door.
  • Deadbolt must be activated by a European profile lock cylinder.
  • Handle must be above the  profile lock cylinder
  • For Hoppe locks with 16mm    (5/8″)  Stainless steel faceplate (Not Included)
  • 92mm (3 5/8″) from center of handle to center of thumb turn
  • Accepts European lock cylinder only.    Handle over thumb turn. Need American cylinder? Search Hoppe HLS-7 Series.
  • Works on both left swing and right swing doors. Handing can be switched

  1. Remove entire lock body from your door panel
  2. Remove the lock gear box mechanism from the stainless steel faceplate. Screw driver needed.
  3. Change the handing on the new lock gear to resemble the old lock handing. do a side by side inspection.
  4. To change handing, use pliers to grab the striker and pull outwards enough to rotate the striker to the handing you need.
  5. Do the same to the small striker (Mishandling device).
  6. Put lock gear to faceplate
  7. Attach drive bar on faceplate to the new lock gear box
  8. Screw faceplate on to the new lock gear box
  9. Test new lock to make sure drive gear is connected
  10. Install lock back into door and connect top drive bar to lock gear
  11. Screw top extension to lock gear
  12. Test lock to make sure all lock points activate and disengage properly
  13. Re-install handle set and profile cylinder, Check again that all parts work properly before you close the door into the door frame.
  14. The door should close and lock if all steps have been followed properly, And that’s it!!!!
